Indicators for the TradingView Premium plan: what you need

You need a TradingView Premium plan or higher. Scripts can read volume footprints — the volume traded at each price inside a bar, split into buying and selling — only on those plans, and all 3 indicators are built on that data. That is also why they go further than the universal tools, and why they cost more.

Good to know before you buy

• It is not a bid/ask record. TradingView classifies buying and selling by the direction of lower-interval bars, so delta approximates aggression. On CFDs and forex it reflects broker price updates, not contracts.
• Detail thins with age. On 1-minute charts the footprint has full detail only in the current session; on 1-hour charts it covers about the last two weeks. The indicators grade what they receive and say so.
• Gaps are filled honestly. Where a bar has no footprint, Volume Profile & Activity Map Premium uses one chart-bar sample and shows the share of the window the footprint covered.
• Traded volume gives the fullest reading. Futures and stocks carry traded volume; forex and CFD feeds count price changes rather than traded size, and the indicators flag it. Institutional S&R Premium refuses spot forex and supports currency futures instead.
• Row size sets itself. Footprint and volume-at-price rows follow the instrument and the interval, so there is nothing to tune on first run.

• Support and resistance zones from the volume traded at each price, marked with a strength from 0 to 100; broken zones fade.
• The DATA row grades the footprint for this moment; below the quality floor the volume layers switch off and say so, while the price layer keeps working.
• Liquidity levels above and below price with a historical reach frequency, its sample size and a LOW, MEDIUM or HIGH grade — published from 30 comparable situations and refused beyond the calibrated range.
• It also draws buy-side and sell-side liquidity, structure breaks, imbalance zones across timeframes and VWAP — layers you can switch off when another indicator already owns them.

Which one for what — and where they overlap

They split the work by axis: one reads the whole window by price, one reads each bar in time, and one turns volume at price into levels with their evidence.

What overlaps, and what to switch off

• VWAP and imbalance zones. Volume Profile & Activity Map Premium and Institutional S&R Premium can both draw them. Keep each layer in one indicator and switch the duplicate off in the other.
• Absorption. Both volume tools mark it. If you read it in Volume X-Ray Premium, set Absorption Bubbles = Off in Volume Profile & Activity Map Premium.
• Liquidity and structure. Institutional S&R Premium draws buy-side and sell-side lines and structure breaks, as does our liquidity indicator for TradingView. With that map on the chart, switch off Show Liquidity Levels here — the probabilities still use those levels. For order blocks, use the smart money concepts indicator.
• One edition per chart. Use Volume Profile & Activity Map Premium or the classic edition, not both. Volume X-Ray Premium already contains the full Volume X-Ray engine, so you do not need Volume X-Ray on the same chart.
• What Volume X-Ray Premium leaves to the profile. Version 1.0.0 draws no session POC, row imbalances or cumulative delta line; for the footprint across price levels, use Volume Profile & Activity Map Premium.

What if my TradingView plan changes?

• Volume Profile & Activity Map Premium includes the classic Volume Profile & Activity Map. If your plan drops below the TradingView Premium plan, switch to the classic script and keep the same map, built from lower-timeframe candles.
• Volume X-Ray Premium includes Volume X-Ray, which works on every plan and keeps the participation engine — activity by time of day and the 12 states. The order-flow readings need the footprint, so Volume X-Ray Premium itself needs a TradingView Premium plan or higher.
• Institutional S&R Premium has no classic edition: every volume-derived answer in it stands on footprint data, so it needs a TradingView Premium plan or higher to do its job.

In IQ Premium, the Premium indicators run on a TradingView Premium plan or higher; on a lower plan, the universal indicators — both classic editions among them — keep working.
