Support & Resistance · For TradingView Premium plan and higher

Institutional Support and Resistance Premium

The support and resistance indicator for TradingView that tells you what it does not know: levels built from the volume traded at each price, and a named refusal wherever the data cannot carry an answer.

  • Levels from traded volume. Support and resistance come from the volume done at each price, not from candle shape; the row size sets itself.
  • Data graded first. The DATA row scores the volume data for this moment; below the quality floor the volume layers switch off and say so.
  • Numbers with their sample. A liquidity level's historical reach frequency reads, for example, 43–62% · N=104 · MEDIUM (illustrative panel reading) — or a refusal with its reason.

What is Institutional Support and Resistance Premium?

Institutional Support and Resistance Premium is an invite-only TradingView indicator that builds support and resistance, liquidity levels and imbalance zones from footprint data — the volume traded at each price. Each probability is a historical frequency shown with its sample size and confidence grade, and the panel names the cause when data is too thin.

Volume-based support and resistance, not empty mechanical zones

Most support and resistance tools draw from the shape of price: swings, pivots, round numbers. The line looks the same whether heavy trade stands behind it or none, and is drawn just as firmly in a dead hour or on a feed with no volume. Which one matters is left for you to guess.

This indicator starts from the volume actually traded at each price — "institutional" means levels built where the business was done, not a claim about who traded. The panel grades the data first. Where volume supports an answer, you get a zone with a strength score and a liquidity level with its sample; where it does not, the volume layers switch off and name the cause, while the price layer keeps working. An institutional levels indicator, not a pivot tool — calibrated and tested over hundreds of hours on historical charts of the most traded markets.

What's on the chart — built from volume at price levels

  1. 01

    Support and resistance zones

Boxes from volume traded at price, marked S 64 or R 67 with a strength from 0 to 100; broken zones fade.

  2. 02

    Data quality as a number

DATA grades the footprint for this moment, not the symbol; MODEL says whether the probabilities stand on it.

  3. 03

Top liquidity level on each side

AUTO DOL ↑ and AUTO DOL ↓ mark the highest-ranked liquidity level above and below price, with how often comparable levels were reached before.

  4. 04

    Refusals that name the cause

OUT OF CALIBRATION RANGE prints the distance and the limit; NO VOLUME DATA ON THIS FEED lists what stays on.

  5. 05

    Liquidity and structure, named

Buy-side and sell-side lines with sweeps, breaks and retests; BOS, CHoCH and MSS on bar close. For a dedicated map of buy side sell side liquidity, the family has its own indicator.

  6. 06

    Imbalance zones across timeframes

Three-candle gaps from this chart and from four times your interval, each higher-timeframe zone showing its ceiling, e.g. S 32/45.

  7. 07

    VWAP, bands and range midpoint

LOCATION places price against VWAP in ATR and inside the range.

  8. 08

Your prices and alerts on bar close

Two prices of your own, measured like any tracked level; four alert families, every message CONFIRMED on a closed bar.

How it decides — data first, answers second

  1. Grade the data.

Quality belongs to the moment: one gold 1-minute chart read FOOTPRINT GOOD (~70) in one session and FOOTPRINT SPARSE hours later.

  2. Keep one fixed order.

Volume at price → structure → liquidity → imbalance → VWAP and support/resistance → liquidity levels → historical reach frequency.

  3. Confirm on the close.

Everything is written on closed bars; higher-timeframe values come from closed candles.

  4. Count, don't forecast.

Under 30 comparable situations the row reads CALIBRATING; beyond the measured 8.0 ATR grid a level is refused.

Levels and probabilities — what they are, and are not

A reading such as 26–39% · N=207 · MEDIUM means: in 207 comparable past situations on this same chart, price reached a level this far away within the horizon (20 bars by default) in roughly that share of cases. The grade — LOW, MEDIUM or HIGH — shows how much evidence stands behind it.

Read this before using the probabilities. Every probability is a historical frequency from the same chart, shown with its sample and grade, and refused when the data cannot carry it. It is not a forecast, a signal or a recommendation, and it promises no result. No buy or sell signals, no automation — the decisions and the risk stay with you.

Built on IQ — Intelligent Quantitative

Every indicator in the family stands on the same foundation, so it reads the chart the moment you add it — and your time goes into the market, not the settings panel.

Here, calibration means automatic row sizing: volume-at-price rows are sized for the instrument and interval, the probability horizon counts your chart's bars, and higher-timeframe zones come from four times your interval — nothing to tune on first run.

  • Auto-Timeframe, on by default

Row size and thresholds set themselves for the instrument and interval

  • Manual Mode for experts

Every value the calibration sets is also a setting of yours. Full control, nothing locked behind the automation.

  • Dark and Light, automatically

The indicator reads your chart background and switches colours and transparency on its own. Line weights and text sizes are set by role.

  • One family, one visual language

The same concept wears the same colour in every indicator. Combined, they divide the chart instead of duplicating it.

  • Honest by construction

Events print on bar close, closed windows stay frozen, and the data behind a reading is graded or labelled. No profit promises and no hidden guesses: when the data cannot support a reading, the indicator says so.

Watch it work

Two minutes on historical charts at factory settings: the panel grades the data, zones and liquidity levels appear, then the indicator refuses — a distant DAX level and a coarse-tick Nikkei contract on one minute.

Why there is no classic edition

Every volume-derived answer here — support and resistance and the probabilities — stands on footprint data, which TradingView provides from its Premium plan upward. Without footprint only the price layer would stay, so there is one edition at one price. See all premium TradingView indicators.

Frequently asked questions

Does it repaint?

No. Everything it keeps is written on closed bars; the open bar is a marked preview and alerts fire only at the close. How to verify an indicator does not repaint.

Which TradingView plan do I need?

A TradingView Premium plan or higher — the indicator reads footprint data.

Which markets and intervals does it support?

Instruments with real traded volume, at their best on liquid ones from 5m to 1h in active sessions. Currency pairs are refused (UNSUPPORTED · FOREX); use currency futures such as CME:6E1!.

Are the probabilities predictions?

No. Each counts how often price reached a comparable level in comparable past situations on the same chart, with its sample and grade.

Why does the panel sometimes show no number?

The data cannot carry one at that moment. Wait for an active session or move up an interval.

How do alerts work?

Create one alert per instrument from the indicator's legend menu with "Any alert() function call"; messages arrive on bar close. How to set up TradingView alerts.

Can I use it with other indicators?

Yes, one copy per chart; hide a duplicated layer with its Show … switch.

How do I get access and updates?

Give your TradingView username after purchase and the invite arrives within 24 h. Updates reach you automatically in the same script.
